Holiday Idea

Offering cyclists some of Norway’s most beautiful and rewarding wild landscapes, this brand-new itinerary combines two of the country’s most popular cycling routes. Travel by electric bike along the Tour de Dovre and Mjølkevegen, through some of Norway’s most famous national parks.

Sloping 125km through a landscape of idyllic old pastures with a backdrop of dramatic peaks, the Tour de Dovre, wriggles through three national parks; Rondane, Dovre and Dovrefjell, where musk ox roam the tundra in search of moss and lichen.

Making its name simply by the fact that it was the route taken to collect milk from the free-range dairy cows in the highlands, the 250km Mjølkevegen (the old milk route) stretches from Vinstre, to Gol and is 1300 metres above sea level at its highest point.

Meet grazing cows and sheep and keep a look out for wildlife in the national parks, home to elk, reindeer and eagles.

With luggage transported from lodge to lodge and comfortable family-run accommodation geared up to serve hearty meals and offer a comfortable resting place, this journey (which can be embarked upon by regular bike or electric bike) is perfect for those with a love of two wheels and the great outdoors.
